Whether you’re a visionary creator or a supportive backer, understanding the process for project cancellations is essential. This guide outlines how both creators and backers can handle cancellations and adjustments to ensure a smooth experience for all parties involved.

For Creators: Adjusting Your Project Plans

Circumstances change, and sometimes, so must your project. Here’s what to do if you need to cancel or adjust your project:

  1. Within the Initial Phase: If you must cancel your project soon after it begins, you can do so within the first 48 hours without any consequences. This grace period allows you to reassess your project’s feasibility or correct any issues.
  2. To Cancel Your Project:
    • Navigate to “My Projects” on your AllShar dashboard.
    • Select the project you wish to cancel.
    • Click on the “Edit Project” option, then select “Cancel Project.”
    • We recommend communicating with your backers about the cancellation as a courtesy, especially if you hope to relaunch in the future.

Pro Tip: Before cancelling, consider reaching out to your community. Often, backers and followers can offer support, advice, or flexibility to help keep your project alive.

For Backers: When a Project You Support is Cancelled

  1. Automatic Refunds: If a project is cancelled by the creator within the first 48 hours of its launch, all backers will automatically receive a full refund.
  2. After 48 Hours: If a project is cancelled after the initial 48 hours, we’ll notify you via email. The refund process will be initiated, though it may take several days to complete.

Managing Your Support

  • Adjusting Pledges: You can adjust or withdraw your pledge at any time before the project’s funding deadline.
  • To Adjust Your Pledge:
    • Go to the project page and click on “Manage Your Pledge.”
    • From there, you can choose to change the pledge amount or select a different reward.
